INDEPENDENCE DAY-CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA

Carried with care, coated with pride, dipped in love fly in glory, moments of freedom in shade of joy, Let us remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be a part of India.

To pay tribute and remember all the freedom fighters who had sacrificed their life for the country, our school ST MARY’S ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL, KANNARPADY, hosted various programmes for students in order to instill the spirit of freedom in the minds of the young children.

The program related to Independence day was performed by the students of class V to XII. Ms. Roopa .K.S hosted the Programme. The students had to perform according to their house. The four houses are Gandhi House, Nehru House, Subhash House and Tilak House. Each house was given a time of 5 minutes to perform. The judges for the event for the higher primary section were, Ms.Sushma, Ms.Deepa Kamath and Ms.Archana. The judges for the high school section were Ms.Poornima, Ms.Veena and Ms.Divya.

The Principal Rev. Father Johnson Sequiera gave an introductory message. He wished the students on the eve of Independence Day.

The programme started with the dance performance of various houses from higher primary section. Children of the higher primary danced to the tunes of the various patriotic songs. Each house exhibited the dance with the tri colour costumes. One could feel the spirit of patriotism overflowing through their dances. Every House enthusiastically made human pyramid to hoist the Indian flag.

Short skits relating to the freedom struggle were performed. The various themes like, the Indigo Cultivation of Bengal, the massacre of Jalian wala bagh, the sepoy mutiny, phulwama attack etc.

The whole programme was hosted by Ms. Sunitha.
