Christmas Celebration held at St Mary's English Medium School, Kannarpady, Udupi.

"Joy to the world the Lord is come". The Christmas celebration was held in St Mary's English Medium School (CBSE), Kannarpady, Udupi on Monday, 23rd of December at 10 am in St Mary's Auditorium.

The programme started with invoking almighty's blessings by the school choir. Mrs Renita welcomed the gathering. Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca,the correspondent of St Mary's Eduactional Institutions, Fr Stevan Fernandes, Assistant Parish Priest, Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi and Mr Prashanth Jathanna, Director of BiG J Channel were the guest of the day. Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca,delivered the Christmas message and wished all by singing a Christmas wishing song.

Mrs Ashwini spoke about the significance of the day and the festive celebration was dramatized by the students and teachers. A tableau on the birth of the Jesus Christ was enacted which showed a real picture of the birth of Jesus Christ 2019 years ago. The school student's choir presented carols singing, little champs of the KG section beautifully presented a crib scenario with a dance. And the higher secondary students took the children to the celebration mode by their beautiful dance. Christmas cake was cut to make this celebration a memorable one.

On the occasion of Christmas, competitions like Chart making and Star making were held and the winners of the competitions were awarded with prizes by the guests of the day. The real merry making started when children's friend Santa entered the auditorium being a pillion rider on a bullet bike. He distributed chocolates to the students and entertained them by his dance. On this special occasion Mr Nagaraj A, who is visually impaired was invited to share his experiences and to show case his talents and to inspire students to achieve success through hard work. He was felicitated by Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca on behalf of the school.

The programme was well coordinated by Master Shaldon, Miss Sharon and Miss Anish of grade 9th students. Ms Aswita Carol proposed words of gratitude. Many of the parents and guardians became a part of this celebration. The whole programme was well planned and executed by the Principal of the school Fr Johnson Sequeira and Vice Principal Mrs Rita Quadros respectively.
