"If we encounter a man of rare intellect, we should ask him what books he reads" said by Ralp Waldo Emerson. The Annual Book Fair of the academic year 2019-20 is arranged at the Mother Theresa Hall of St Mary's English Medium School (CBSE), Kannarpady, Udupi from Wednesday, 18th of December to Saturday, 20th of December.
The inaugural ceremony of the book fair was formally arranged in St Mary's Auditorium at 9:15 am by invoking blessings from God and lighting the lamp. The guest of the day Mrs Vasanthi Ambalpady, a well known writer, a state level award winner for small stories and poems was introduced to the gathering by Mr Renold and felicitated by the school on this occasion. Addressing the students on the event organized by the school, she stressed on the need to read more and more books on this era of modern technology and web world. She gave a call to read the books related to the topic on personality development, the present situations around us, and the life and achievement of the great personalities. She congratulated the school and the school authorities for arranging such a valuable event in the school and providing a platform to develop the reading habits of the students.
Fr Johnson Sequeira, the principal of the school asked the students to select the books which transform the behaviour, to choose the book not looking into its cover but by looking into the content and buy the books in which they have interest.
The initiation of the book fair was done by the guest of the day which was arranged in Mother Theresa Hall officially. The whole programme was well coordinated by Mrs Divya Ganesh. The event was organized in a systematic way by the principal of the school with the support of Mrs Rita Quadros, vice principal of the school.
